Gynecology and Obstetrics

The health of the reproductive organs and, in fertile age, the regularity of the menstrual cycle are at the center of the overall well-being of every woman.

For this reason it is essential to undergo periodic gynecological checks, in the various age groups, from puberty, throughout the fertile period, up to menopause and post-menopause, to intercept and treat pathologies and dysfunctions, and above all to prevent them!

Al CIFS il tuo ginecologo/a di fiducia ti prende in carica e ti segue nel percorso  di prevenzione/cura piu’ adatta a te!

Frequently asked questions

FAQ

I had a risky relationship, what tests can I do to feel safe?

If you are not using safe contraceptive protection, it is a good idea to protect yourself with postcoital contraception. To be safe, you can do simple tests to exclude sexually transmitted diseases.

How often is a gynecological examination recommended?

A check-up visit is advisable every 12/18 months even if you are not sexually active.

What is polycystic ovary?

It is a fairly common situation, in the mildest cases it is an enlargement of the ovary which has many follicles (the containers of the oocytes) inside. In more serious situations there is a production of male-like hormones accompanied by menstrual irregularities, sometimes acne and weight gain.

What is endometriosis?

This is the presence of endometrial tissue that normally lines the cavity of the uterus, outside this organ. Endometriosis nodules can be found in the tubes, ovary, or even the rectum. The main symptom is pain that accompanies menstruation.

How long should you wait when trying to get pregnant before consulting your doctor?

If you are young you can give nature time to express its potential, but after 12 or 18 months of unsuccessful attempts it is advisable to exclude the main causes of infertility. If the woman is over 35 it is better to wait less.
